4 Solid Models for Online Video Monetization

online video

Gaiam TV

Gaiam, a well-known provider of health, wellness, and spirituality products and media, has created a sharp online marketplace for its video content.

Gaiam’s full library of videos are provided on a monthly subscription model of $9.95, which helps the company market their other products and services such as yoga equipment, clothing, wellness items, and more.

Rouxbe Online Video Cooking School

Rouxbe bills itself as the world’s leading online cooking school, offering instructor-guided certification cooking courses for cooks of all levels.

Courses can be taken on demand and classes start at $29 for “Egg Basics” and go up to $99 for classes like “The Cook’s Roadmap.”

Empty Sea Television

Empty Sea Studios is a multi-use space that functions as a recording studio, production studio for live webcasts, and as a concert venue for intimate acoustic performances.

But the folks at Empty Sea know that there’s demand for the artists that come through, so they created Empty Sea Television where their customers can access live streaming concerts or video on demand in high definition.

Empty Sea offers monthly subscription access as well as piecemeal PPV.

MakerBot.TV MakerBot Blog

MakerBot manufactures 3D printers, and 3D printers are pretty cool. So what better way to profile their product, The Replicator, and all the cool 3D printings it can create, than with video content?

While MakerBot’s online video doesn’t monetize, you can bet that this strong online video presence helps establish the brand and sell more Replicators.

(For full disclosure, one of these is a VOPED client. We like what they’re doing and we support them all the way!)
